falling off the wagon...

oh man...i have so undone all of the good that was done. and at a recordbreaking pace. this weekend was one huuuuge failure for me. and it doesn't look promising for this week. i know i should be strong and stick to my weight watchers and eating healthy commitment no matter WHAT goes down, but i just haven't been able to.

you see, our friend joe is visiting from philly, and we want to show him all of the great things LA has to offer. and he loooooves food. and LA has great food. so we have a week-long foodfest ahead of us. perhaps this is just my last hurrah. my last opportunity to enjoy -- without overwhelming guilt -- and a triple digit point day marked in my WW journal. excuses, excuses.

friday we had one of darren's dishes, joe's requested fave: pesto pizza with feta and shrimp. man alive. this thing is good! we also had a light caesar salad as well. trying to get my veggies, see?!

saturday we went to breakfast at HOME in los feliz. good stuff and such a lovely casual vibe for a kicked back breakfast in the courtyard. i had curry chicken salad sandwich and a little salad...as this is one of my faves. not THE healthiest tho, i am afraid. we then took a drive to amoeba and then up to hollywood. we each had a slice of ny style pizza. since this strip is one of the few in LA that come close to producing the real pizza i crave. we walked up to the chinese theatre and thru the kodak theatre/mall. we could not pass up the wafting smell of fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies. i am weak. we did do lotsa walking tho. that counts for something, right?!

from there i went to ang's most fabulous pumpkin carving party. my pumpkin turned out rather sad and now it has kind of taken on a shrinky dink look as the pumpkin loses moisture. soooo sad! by now i am so off the charts in points by soooo much that i wouldn't even wager a guess. so i added a few beers, wings (mmmm mmm good!) and mashed potatoes and cookies to my all ready doomed intake for the day. oh man it was worth it tho!!! i picked up el pollo loco for the boys and *yes* i had a piece. see what i mean? no will power.

sunday was not so good either. we took joe to philippes and i had a french dip and a SALAD (yay! healthy! i tried...) then we went to see the LA Phil at the Disney Concert Hall. This place is just AMAZING!!! and the pieces they played were so moving. I think that I may not have been to see the symphony since like middle school. So to finally see it again AND in this grand structure was nothing short of FABULOUS. So great that Joe and Darren enjoyed it as well. We drove over to Olvera Street to show Joe the oldest street in LA and also to walk through the market. He bought a cowboy hat. Yeehaw! We couldn't leave without having him try *THE BEST* tacos at the mission courtyard. Eeeeck. A few hours later we returned home to have some Tilapia Curry. Sheesh.

Okay so today, I thought...AT LEAST I CAN BE GOOD AT WORK. yeah well, today was the SoapCity McLunch day. Mary bought everyone a fatty fat McDonalds lunch to celebrate our new Monopoly promotion that starts tomorrow. Alas, Chicken fingers and fries. It's almost like I can feel the fat re-forming. Boohooooo!
